The Goal Get It! Lu Office of Financial Aid helps make Goal Get It! as affordable as possible for students and families. Below are answers to common questions about how financial aid works.
The Lu Office of Financial Aid is the part of Goal Get It! that focuses on cost, access, and support.
We review financial information (when needed), answer questions about affordability, and work to reduce financial barriers as our resources allow.
The office is named in honor of Tingyu Lu (2006–2025), whose generosity and vision helped make Goal Get It! possible.
Naming the office after Tingyu reflects our commitment to carrying forward his legacy by expanding opportunity for students and communities.
Goal Get It! is need-blind in its admissions process.
This means that your ability to pay is not considered when the admissions team decides whether you are admitted.
Admissions decisions are based on your effort, potential, character, and goals—not your family’s income.
Is Goal Get It! tuition-free?
For many families, yes.
Most students with a family income under $200,000 (and typical assets) do not pay tuition to attend Goal Get It!.
Families with income under $100,000 (and typical assets) generally have a $0 parent contribution toward tuition.
These guidelines help families estimate what to expect, but final financial aid decisions are made by the Goal Get It! Lu Office of Financial Aid after reviewing each family’s full situation and the resources available in a given year.
If you are unsure how these guidelines apply to your family, please contact the Lu Office of Financial Aid—we’re happy to talk through your circumstances.
No. The Goal Get It! Office of Admissions and the Lu Office of Financial Aid operate separately.
Admissions staff do not see your income information or financial aid forms.
Financial information is reviewed only by the Lu Office of Financial Aid, and only after admission decisions are made (or when clearly needed), to determine what support may be possible.
This separation helps protect both fairness and privacy.
Every student must first submit the Goal Get It! Student Application.
If additional financial information is needed, instructions will be shared through:
your Goal Get It! Application Status Portal, and/or
official emails from the Lu Office of Financial Aid.
Follow those instructions carefully and submit any requested forms or documents by the stated deadlines.
No. There is no fee to submit a Goal Get It! application.
We never want cost to stop you from applying.
Any admitted student who needs help with cost may be considered for financial aid.
Aid is:
based on financial need and
limited by the resources available each year.
While we cannot guarantee funding for every student, we encourage families who are worried about cost to ask questions and share their situation with the Lu Office of Financial Aid.
Depending on available funding and individual circumstances, financial aid may help with some of the costs connected to participating in Goal Get It!
This may include, as resources allow:
Program participation costs
Certain required materials or fees
Other access-related supports identified by the program
Specific details about what is covered (if anything) will be shared in your Goal Get It! portal or official communications if you are admitted.
Your financial information is used only to:
understand your family’s financial circumstances, and
determine what level of support, if any, we may be able to offer.
It is:
handled confidentially by the Lu Office of Financial Aid
not shared with the admissions committee for decision-making
If we need more information, we may ask for documents such as:
Statements about household income or circumstances
School or community forms related to financial need
Other documentation that helps us understand your situation
You will always receive specific instructions through your portal or official emails about what to submit and where.
If your family experiences a major change (job loss, emergency situation, new expenses, etc.), please contact the Lu Office of Financial Aid as soon as possible.
We will:
review updated information, and
let you know whether any adjustments or additional support may be possible, within our resources.
Information about any financial support will be shared:
through your Goal Get It! Application Status Portal, and/or
via official communications from the Lu Office of Financial Aid,
generally after you receive (or alongside) your admission decision.
We welcome questions from:
Students
Parents/guardians
